Inversion, No Snow, and offshore flow means It's time to go SURF!

The forecast from Magic Seaweed looks sweet for the weekend surf. After bashing through ice, sastrugi, rhime, crystals, more ice, and the few spots of corn, the snow at Mt. Bachelor is officially in need of a serious re-boot, so we're heading to the coast to catch some West swell.
Here's a couple of shots from past coast trips- With any luck, my next post will have some more good shots from this weekend...

Colonel Fridae, dropping into the unknown in Larry Valley....Kwohl Butte in the background on the left. A good "slackcountry" ski would be to go from the top down toward Kwohl, with a ski out to the Bachelor Snow trail, with a sled pickup waiting. Could probably manage a couple of these laps in a day, if everyone had their shit dialed....
Let's do it!

Photos from my first surf of the New Year!

On our final day in So. Cal, I drove up as far as Ventura, specifically "C-Street" for one last shot at some good waves. These shots are from the night I arrived. Full moon, lights on the pier, I almost went out at Midnite, but thought better of it without someone else to go out with at least...
I got up before dawn, and found some big surf, with only two guys paddling out in the dark. Here's the sunrise, with a nice slab going by...
Here's the line-up, with waves breaking 3-6' from up the point (far right) down to the pier (beyond far left). Lots of paddling for these high-tide lines, with late-drops on the big sets mandatory...
